Disconnect an account in Nearby Proof
- Sign in to your Show Up Nearby dashboard and open Nearby Proof.
- Open Social accounts.
- On the account’s card, choose Review.
- Choose Disconnect account, then Confirm disconnect.
Disconnecting takes the permission “Connect and disconnect social accounts,” which a workspace owner grants in Team & permissions. Once an account is disconnected we can no longer publish to it, and the data we received from that platform is deleted within 7 days. Posts that were already published stay on the platform.
Revoke our access at the platform
You can also remove our access in each platform’s own settings. The app listed there may be Show Up Nearby or our publishing service provider, currently Zernio.
- Google (Business Profile and YouTube): Google Account permissions or the Google security settings page.
- Facebook: Settings & privacy > Settings > Apps and websites, then Remove.
- Instagram: Settings > Website permissions > Apps and websites, then Remove next to the app.
- Threads: Settings > More settings > Website permissions, then Remove next to the app.
- TikTok: Profile > Menu > Settings and privacy > Security & permissions > Apps and services permissions, then the app and Remove access.
- LinkedIn: Me > Settings & Privacy > Data privacy > Other applications > Permitted services, then Remove.
- Pinterest: Settings > Security, where the apps connected to your account are listed; remove the app there.
Revoking access at a platform stops us from reading or publishing to that account. To have the data we already received deleted within 7 days, also disconnect the account in Nearby Proof or send us a deletion request. Data from Google that we can no longer refresh is deleted within 30 days in any case.
Request deletion of your data or your account
Email support@showupnearby.com from the email address you sign in with and tell us what you want deleted:
- the data we received from one connected platform;
- the data we received from all of your connected platforms; or
- your whole account, including your workspace and everything in it.
If you cannot write from that address, tell us which account it is and we will verify that the request comes from you or from someone authorized for the workspace. A person reviews every request. We confirm when we receive it and again when the deletion is complete.
What we delete and when
- Data from a connected platform—account IDs, names and profile links; Google reviews with reviewer names, review text, replies and reply drafts; and the delivery records of your posts—within 7 days after the account is disconnected or your deletion request is verified.
- Content we receive from Google Business Profile is also refreshed from Google while the profile is connected and never kept more than 30 days without a refresh. A review that disappears from Google is kept at most 30 days, then deleted.
- If you ask us to delete your whole account, we also cancel any active subscription, disconnect every account, and delete your workspace, locations, team access, settings and your own content—jobs, photos, videos and captions—within 30 days of verifying the request.
- Until then, your own content stays yours and is kept while your account is active.
What we keep, and why
- Billing records—invoices, payments, refunds and subscription history—for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Card details are held by our payment processor, Stripe, not by us.
- A record of your request and when we completed it, so we can show that we honored it.
- Your sign-in is closed and its email address replaced with an unreadable value; a placeholder named “Deleted account” keeps shared records, such as a teammate’s job history, consistent.
- Information we must keep to resolve a dispute, prevent fraud or abuse, or meet a legal obligation, only for as long as that requires.
- Deleted data can remain in our database backups until they expire on their normal schedule; we use backups only to recover from a failure.
What deletion does not change
Deleting data from Show Up Nearby does not delete content already published on the platforms. Posts, videos, Pins and review replies that were published stay on Google, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, LinkedIn and Pinterest until you remove them there; for example, to remove a video from YouTube, delete it on YouTube.
Deleting your data also does not change who owns or manages your Google Business Profile. If you gave us manager or owner access, ask us and we will remove it within 7 business days.
